Han er utdannet bilmekaniker og har lang fartstid i bilbransjen, der han i flere år var serviceleder. Trøsviken kjente et behov for å skifte beite og ble engasjert i et selskap som spesialiserte seg på tomteutgravinger før han nærmest ved en tilfeldighet ble kontaktet av et bemanningsbyrå som assisterte Steg Entreprenør med å skaffe en ny anleggsleder. Trøsviken lærte raskt at det var forskjell på boring og styrt boring etter første intervjurunde, men fikk jobben fordi han kunne dokumentere god kompetanse innen logistikk og kundebehandling. Etter snaue tre år i Steg Entreprenør betegner han seg fortsatt som ganske fersk i anleggsbransjen.
